CONSERVATION IN ACTION WELCOME DRINKS
The Conservation in Action Welcome Drinks event is being held on the evening of Tuesday 15 May at The Oxford Hotel, Bathurst from 5 to 7pm. This will be a great opportunity to network with other conservation industry professionals prior to the beginning of the conference on Wednesday 16 May. Finger food and beverages as well as entertainment will all be supplied.
Attendance at the Welcome Drinks event is included in full conference packages or available to be purchased separately. Pricing is only $40 as an early bird rate before Sunday 15 April, or $45 after this date. See link below for further registration details.
The Cooperative Research Centre for Water Sensitive Cities is the major sponsor for the conference Welcome Drinks. We are excited to announce that as part of this event the CRC for Water Sensitive Cities will be launching a new case study on the innovative Orange City Council Stormwater Harvesting Scheme.
This scheme was the first large scale example of stormwater treatment for indirect potable (drinking water) reuse in NSW, if not Australia. Large wetlands were constructed as part of the solution which not only provide an environmentally friendly, municipal water treatment solution, but also provide habitat for a range of native flora and fauna. This is a truly great example of a project that meets the conference theme of 'Research to Reality'.
Andy Nelson is a highly talented singer/songwriter who is developing an ever expanding fan base across the Central West of NSW and beyond. Having only recently taken a long held love of playing music beyond his family and friends to public venues, his acoustic mix of covers and originals have struck a chord with audiences.
Andy has a rare knack of being able to read an audience and engage with them through his music, with his passion for the songs being infectious to audiences.
"I started to play guitar towards the end of high school and from that moment I realised I had found something that I have a true passion for. Something that you can go to and not have to think about anything else that's going on, just immerse yourself in playing that instrument."
