Australian Ethical Community Grants 2019

The 2019 Australian Ethical Community Grants are now open for application.

As a business, Australian Ethical are driven by a bigger purpose than just making a profit, they believe it’s important to play a leadership role in making the world a better place.

That’s why each year we give away 10% of our yearly after-tax profits* to charitable organisations and social impact initiatives through the Australian Ethical Foundation.

Who do we give to?
Our Community Grants are given to grassroots organisations who contribute to humanitarian, environmental and animal welfare efforts in Australia and abroad. From advocating for asylum seekers in Australia to protecting endangered rainforests and their animals in Borneo, we are passionate about helping organisations make the most impact within their communities.

If you work with an organisation (or know of one) that protects or enhances the lives of people, animals or the planet, this is for you.

This year we're only allowing organisations with an operating revenue less than $1.5 million to apply. This change and other requirements are outlined in our Application Guidelines.

How to apply

  1. Applying: Read the application guidelines for how to apply, and our selection criteria. We recommend using the checklist to prepare your application before filling out the online form on our website. Applications will close 31 May 2019.

  2. Shortlisting: If you are shortlisted we will help you promote your cause. Shortlisted candidates will hear from us on 1 July 2019.

  3. Voting: Our members, the Australian Ethical community and the general public will be invited to vote for the shortlisted charities that matter most to them. These votes will be considered alongside our assessment criteria to determine the winners.

  4. Winning: Winners will be notified in September. Our community love to hear about the positive impact our Community Grants winners are making, so we share these great stories regularly throughout the year.
