A total funding pool of $500,000 will be available for councils to deliver on-ground litter reduction and prevention, applying an integrated approach and projects that help institutionalise litter prevention in applicant organisations.
Councils will be eligible to apply for grants up to $75,000 (ex GST). Successful grantees will be able to use EPA-developed tools and resources, including Don’t be a Tosser! creative materials and the Local Litter Check online data management tool to support their projects.
Round 5 will provide grant funding for two streams.
Stream 1, On-ground: Projects that deliver on-ground litter reduction and prevention, applying an integrated approach that includes clean-up, infrastructure and enforcement activities.
Stream 2, Own It and Act: Projects that help embed litter prevention in applicant organisations.
Stream two is a new litter grant program initiative aimed at ensuring the recent progress made in reducing litter in NSW continues beyond Waste Less, Recycle More.
